Moelleux au Chocolat

Submitted by: Valentin Kulka, Undergraduate Student, Public Health

This recipe brings me back to the village in France where I grew up. This cake is the first memory I have of my friends at a birthday. This cake brings me back to a more simple time.

Servings: 10 Cultural Connection: France

Ingredients

200g of dark chocolate chips 200g of salted butter 5 eggs
180g of sugar 40g of all purpose flour

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven for 375 degree Fahrenheit.
  • Melt together the chocolate and butter on a low heat stove burner. Don’t forget to whisk the butter and chocolate while melting to make sure they don’t burn.
  • In a mixing bowl add the melted butter and chocolate, the sugar, the all purpose flour, and the eggs and mix until smooth.
  • Put the mixture in a buttered and floured 9-inch cake pan and let it cook for 25 minutes.
